Thursday 15th November 2012 – the official online guide to Limerick is celebrating two years since it was launched on 15th November 2010.

Since that date, almost 410,000 people from188 countries have visited the website which showcases all of Limerick’s unique selling points in an impartial manner. is a free service which keeps visitors to the site up to date information on events, things to do and accommodation in the Mid-West Region's capital. The site also offers comprehensive listings of services available to people who live, work, study and do business in Limerick

The popularity of website is continuing to grow with unique visitor numbers for 2012 alone expected to reach 300,000. is continuing to evolve with plans to launch a new version of the site in January 2013. The new version of will offer an enhanced user experience with a fresh look and improved navigation and search facilities. Limerick will also get its first mobile application with the launch of a iPhone App, also in January 2013. web co-ordinator, Orla O’Connor, said she is delighted with the success of the site to date particularly as the internet plays an essential role to promote a positive image of Limerick.

“When you think that two years ago, Limerick had no official on-line presence, we are thrilled with the achievements of so far,” she said. “Our aim was to have a relevant and up-to-date website content containing information on all aspects of visiting, studying and living in Limerick. We’re delighted to have achieved that while also giving up to date information on all festivals and events taking place in the Limerick area. We are particularly happy that the 410,000 people who were looking for information about Limerick over the last two years were presented with positive information.”
