ON Semiconductor - 50 new jobs for Limerick

CEO/Manager of Limerick City & County Council, Conn Murray, has welcomed the expansion of ON Semiconductor’s Research and Development activities at the Raheen Business Park in Limerick.

Creating up to 50 new positions at newly acquired state of the art facilities, ON Semiconductor deliver highly integrated, energy efficient power semiconductor solutions to the market.

Commenting on the announcement Mr. Murray said “this is excellent news for Limerick, not just in terms of the new employment opportunities created, but also in terms of underpinning Limerick’s position as a location where innovative companies with a focus on research and development can add value to their company’s output. It demonstrates Limerick’s capacity to provide the skills, facilities and expertise in this area”.

The newly acquired, state-of-the-art facilities located at Limericks Raheen Business Park now boast 2000 square metres of office space and engineering laboratories that are ISO 9001;2010 and ISO 9001;2012 certified.

Speaking after the official opening of the new facilities by Minister Michael Noonan, Mr Murray said “Limerick City and County Council will continue to be very committed to encouraging Research and Development operations to the Limerick region which has the proficiency, the infrastructure and a strong focus now on technology and innovation".
