Role of Human Resources Department

The Human Resources Department is committed to achieving the objectives of Limerick City Council by delivering effective Human Resources Management to the highest standards through sourcing, developing and enabling staff at all levels.

Its primary functions includes ;

  • the implementation and promotion of human resource policies at managerial and employee level
  • recruitment and assignment of employees
  • the provision of corporate training requirements and arranging essential training as approved
  • implement human resource transactional requirements including leave, payroll and pensions

Limerick City Council has a workforce of approximately 489 covering the areas of management, technical, engineering, clerical/administrative, supervisory, crafts, general operatives and fire-fighters

It also suports a number of work placement initiatives including those sponsored directly by the state.
